In 1953, Ted and Joanie Anderson answered a call to pioneer to Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, beginning an extraordinary journey of faith, courage, and service in one of the most remote and demanding regions of Canada. What followed was a life shaped by severe winters, rugged travel, and the daily challenges of frontier living, but also by friendship, perseverance, humour, and an unwavering commitment to spiritual ideals. As the couple settled into their new home, they worked to share the Bahá'í Faith with the people around them, slowly building connections that would help transform a small, isolated community into a growing and vibrant circle of believers.
Drawn from diaries, letters, and memories of years gone by, Yukon Golden Hearts Discovered tells a powerful story of dedication among Indigenous communities, of practical service, and of the deep human bonds that grew out of shared trust and respect. This is both a family story and a record of religious pioneering, offering a vivid portrait of life in the North and the remarkable results that can come from living one's beliefs with constancy and love. Warm, engaging, and historically rich, it is a tribute to the people and place that shaped the Andersons' lives and to the spiritual adventure they embraced together.
